Get drunk, get raped, stay sober, stay safe?

Rape stories are in the news all the time.  A lot of them report the victim had been drinking, or was drunk.  So when a SLATE reporter wrote an article telling college women not to party in order to be safe from assault, the comments hit the fan.  Blaming the victim?  Or ignoring the facts?
