Talk Back Tuesdays:

This week we decided to look at the TV shows that are popular and cause much controversy and "Scandal" on our social media pages including: EMPIRE, Being Mary Jane, Scandal ,and How to Get Away with Murder to name a few. 

If you watched last week's episode of Being Mary Jane they exposed the controversy behind The Black Man in Corporate America. Their struggles, Racism, Greed, and Fear, etc. Is "the life of a black man more difficult than any other demographic, including the black woman?"

On EMPIRE we will discuss the case of Andre and his diagnosis of Bipolar. How accurate of a depiction does the show cover? How the family dynamics contribute or counteract his mental illness. We will discuss how the show portrays Black men and Psychological Health, what is bipolar disorder? What are the symptoms? How can people deal with bipolar disorder in their everyday life—whether they suffer from it or know someone else who does? And finally does the show offer an accurate picture of mental illness especially in the Black Community?
