Our children and the educational system. A subject that is so very dear to our hearts because it affects not only us but our children and their future. Education is so important for our children because to be educated affords you the opportunities that life has to offer such as employment, stability and a good life. So here we are talking about education but our educational system is not what it is cracked up to be. Is it the system's fault of failing our children or the parents? You tell me. In some case the parents because the reality is that the parents make decisions for their children and it is up to us to follow through on what is occurring in our children lives especially in the schools. We are not to rely on the school system to make our children great students but it is we who determined their path on their educational  walk to success. Our educational system has a lot of loop holes that has allowed our children to be misplace ,displaced or label very easily. So how do we handle that?  Who fault is it when it comes to the displacement or labeling of our children? Is it the teachers, principles, staff that works at our children schools or just us as parents lacking the knowledge to understand the system so we get strong arm into putting our children in the special education system? I am not saying that the special education system is bad, not all because I believe that they do a wonderful job in educating the children to be successful in life. I am however talking about the children who really don't belong their but are their because no one knew how to talk to them. I believe at times it is a cultural difference. I have seen  first hand for myself with my own son and how the teachers seem to have a difficult time knowing how to get him to respond to the things that they want him to do. To me their is a difference because our cultures are far apart in some cases ,so  how do we move forward. What we have to do is educate ourselves first about the educational system so that we can advocate the right way for our children. We must get involved in our children classroom experience. Let teachers know who you are not by your voice but by frequent visits to the school. The more that we do of this then the less our children will be misplace, displace,or labeled in our educational system. Getting  involved is the key to the success of our children.
