Allah's Rahim Salaam The Revelations of John prophecies that THEY REPENTED NOT of their evil deeds and blasphemed the very Name of God (Revelations 16:9). THEREFORE, when a man is guilty of a very great evil done against the cause of God and His people, he cannot be forgiven unless he seeks forgiveness himself. We see this in the working of the fall of America today. I say fall, for most surely this is the Divine fall of America: as it was of ancient Babylon for their evils done to the Jews.

Making a way out of no way, Tanisha A. Cunningham has beaten the odds and redefined the stereotypes associated with children in foster care. Coming from a troubled and abusive home and then entering into an environment that would later question her success in life, she was determined to take control of her destiny. Today, Tanisha holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Services, a Masters degree in Public Administration from Rutgers University and has over 17 years experience working in government agencies including the NYC Administration for Children’s Services. Recently, Tanisha became the Founder and Executive Director to the Underground Railroad to Success, which allowed her to give birth to her vision to start a non profit organization for youth aging out of foster care. Having survived the foster care system herself by successfully transitioning to her own independence, she truly understands the fear of not knowing what's going to happen next. Now it's time for her to go back and help others through that same journey of success. With a mission to become the next Harriet Tubman of this generation, her goal is to lead as many youth in foster care as she can through the tunnel of success where they will find their independence as adults while becoming an integral part of our society.

Good Sleep prepares our children for great success

    Hello All
According to Dr. Marcia Lindsey ,"You are not alone.  7 out of 10 Americans report getting inadequate sleep at least three nights a week. We know some of the reasons good sleep benefits us.  We can meet our day with pep and energy. Our mood is more even to meet the challenges of the day. We’re restoring our health and our organs with good sleep. But finding the causes of inadequate sleep can be a challenging venture

Our children are getting ready to go back to school from  that two month summer break. They are on that summer schedule of later mornings in bed and later nights of fun and television, so what do we do as parent to get back on a schedule of a successful first day of school and a successful school year of educational productivity. Did you know that sleep is very essential for our children in all age groups? How can you can get your child ready? According, Dr.Lindsey she recommends these strategies:
    1. Establish a sleep routine at least two weeks before school.

2.Don't allow our children to go to bed with there televisions,Ipods, computers or any gadgets.

    3. Make sure our children has 1hr of down time before going sleep.
    Dr.Marcia Lindsey: www.sleepdiva.com & www.momsleep.com

Make sure that your child is getting adequate sleep so he or she can have a productive school year. Our children are our future and we want the best for them. so how do we do that, well establish routines that will in order allow us and our children to be successful. I have also taken the liberty to put some other information on making sure our kids have a wonderful transition to a successful school year.

Here are some tips for parents on Tips for getting kids back to school BEFORE THE FIRST DAY

    1. Get children excited:
Get your children ready for school by making back-to-school shopping a family affair.

    2. Play school: Gather supplies and play school with your children. Let them be the teachers and you be the student. This is a great time to talk about anxieties or concerns they may have.

    3. Establish a school year schedule: A few weeks before school begins, set – and stick to – a realistic bedtime to allow children to get the recommended 10 to 12 hours of sleep every night.

    4. Practice the morning routine with children: Before the first day of school, figure out how long it will take for everyone to get out of the house on time. If your children will be walking to school, practice the route or show them where to catch the bus and review the bus rules.

    5. Back-to-school activities: Find out about back-to-school activities or events, such as meet-and-greet with teachers.

    6. Get your own routine in check: Make sure you know what you need to keep the busy morning schedule running smoothly. And, practice your new routine before the stress of the school year really hits.

    7. FIRST-DAY JITTERS

    • Pay close attention to class rules to know what's allowed and what's not.

    • You might already know a lot of people in your classes on the first day. But it's a great day to make a new friend, so try to say hello to kids you know and new ones you don't.

    8. MOVING TO MIDDLE SCHOOL

In middle school, you might move from classroom to classroom for every subject, so it's a good idea to write down where your seat is in your notebook so you don't forget.

    9. GENERAL TIPS

    • Eat a healthy breakfast.

    • Tuck an extra dollar or two in your backpack for an emergency (such as forgetting your lunch money).

    • Bring along a book or magazine to read while you're on the bus.

    • Wear an outfit you like.

    • Whatever you put in your backpack, make sure you pack it the night before. This prevents the morning panic when you can't find your homework or lunchbox.

    • Write a few notes to yourself, so you'll remember the important stuff, such as your locker combination and that lunch starts at 11:43, not 12:10.

    • If you're headed to a new school, try to arrange a visit before classes begin.

    • Some schools offer maps. Get one and read it before school starts – then keep it in your backpack until you're familiar with your new surroundings.

Reading is ESSENTIAL but what types of READINGS?

Reading is such a crucial part of our success in this world. Reading is so essential in our children lives. We know that reading books encourages us to see the word differently. It also helps to enhance our children vocabulary. We want our children to read but we also want our children to read the books that are age appropriated as well. Erotica Novels are not ones that we want our children to be reading at such tender ages. Why? because they are not ready mentally and physically? The erotica novels is so sexually graphic and detail that I don't believe that we would want our children to read such level of intensity of stories. As many of you know the Erotica Novels are for many a form of fantasy that is wanted to be fulfill. Erotica Novels are stories and literature that compromises fictional and factual stories and accounts which arouse the reader, whether written with that intention.
So how do we convey to our children that reading those books are not appropriate right now but we want you still to continue reading. As parents we have to sit down and COMMUNICATE to our children about what they are reading and explain what those books are about and WHO should be really reading these books. We want to encourage our children to read but not at the expense of reading an Erotica Novels and possibly experimenting with an early sexual experience.  As parents we have to create a dialogue with our children that is one that is positive so that they can feel comfortable in coming talking to us.
The Erotica Novels are definitely a different types of reading, and I do believe that there should be some responsibility on authors and book stores to try and censor these books so that our tween/teens will not be able to read them but at the end we have to censor our children's things and get more involved.

    24hrmom

Here are some suggested books for teens to read if they are going to be reading romantic books :

    1.Victoria Christopher  (Divas series);
    2. Stephanie Perry Moor (teen series, for boys and girls, 3.Drama High and Sweet Valley High.

Our Special guest is Literary Diva of BLOG TALK RADIO who host a literary show. She is an advid reader of many books and genres in the world of literature. She loves to write and explore different techniques and styles of writing. Hip Hop and our Children: The influence and impact it has on them?

    Good Morning All

Yesterday I had a great show on," Hip Hop influence on our children and the society", on blogtalkradio. If you did not have the opportunity to listen live, check out the archive of the show. It was really great thanks to all the callers that call in.

Let me begin by saying Hip-Hop is a culture. It is a way of life which includes fashion. It has its own dialect. It is a unique blend of rhythm of beats composed with captivating rhyming words. True hip hop is expressed through artist and it's a clear representation in some cases of the thoughts , dilemmas, and situations occurring in the neighborhood at the present time. Hip-Hop is definitely a huge influence on all of us whether it is through fashion style and its music. Hip- Hop is loved by everyone worldwide. As parents we have to ultimately take the responsibility of what influences our children and there lives. Ultimately we want our children to see positive role modeling and what is right rather than wrong. Of course no one is perfect but we has parents still have a bigger influence on our children.
I do believe that artist should sensor their music, but at the end who am I kidding what I want and the reality is so far fetch.I know that if artist wants to sensor there music that it can be but also seem to not be real "Hip-Hop" because it is all about politics of the industry and making money. The A& R & companies executives know what is going to sell  and it is surely no sensored music  because it might be too boring, and of course that DOES not sell. We must take a stand as parents to our children and communicate what is right and wrong. It is in our best interest to explain to them why you are not allowing them to listen to songs that are degrading and have high sexual content in regards to women? We have to not blame others for our role as parents. Although it would be nice for artist and media outlet such as B.E.T and radio stations to not play the music that is extremely explicit, they are going to do it, so ultimately we have to say NO !!!. So at the end Hip-hop is a influence in our society such as fashion , music, etc but at the end it is up to the parents to see that thier children are being guided in it's right direction.

Again  Thanks to the guests Benny Negro of the BENNY NEGRO SHOW, Coach K of the blogtalkradio, and Miss.Terryl Ebony of Blogtalkradio and MYDC for coming on the show and being part of the solution. Let's all work on making sure our children are being influence correctly.
God bless and continue to walk in your blessings
