A witness is something that we are; it is our connection or identification with God that makes us a witness. We exhibit our witness through all manner of conversation; what we do and don’t do, what we say and don’t say, how we act and react. There were specific things Israel did and did not do which affected their testimony as witnesses. Being a witness for Christ is first "so that" we may know God and then "so that" others may know God. Being a witness is about knowing God, seeing his steadfast love, experiencing his work in creation, hearing his voice. Being a witness also is something directed toward others, you never know who is watching or listening. The Bible declares that we are saved to save others. There may come a time in a person’s life that one might lose the ability to read for themselves or even be able to hear the word of God; but being a witness for Christ that individual still has the opportunity to see Christ and His glory manifesting through your lifestyle. Can an eyewitness see the witness in you?
