Lawrence Elman is the founder and director of Drive Thru Pictures. He has produced and directed numerous award-winning documentaries. He produced BAFTA-winning documentary, Nine Lives of Alice Martineau (2003). He has worked extensively with the BBC, in documentaries such as Office Tigers (2006), and The Biggest Chinese Restaurant in the World (2008). In 2009, Team Qatar won the Best Feature Film Prize in Tribeca/Doha film festival. He also produced and directed John Mortimer: A Life in Words, and Pablo’s Hippos (2010), which were broadcast on the BBC and screened in festivals around the world. Lawrence Elman joined forces in 2009 as Directors in Amber Entertainment’s London office. Combining their extensive experience in the film industry, Ms. Maisel and Mr. Elman focus on the acquisition of intellectual property rights of literary works and the production of feature films, documentaries, television series and content for digital platforms. The company has also created strategic partnerships with publishing houses like Penguin to develop and create new and innovative ways of content distribution.
