Deborah Jensen art directed the critically acclaimed new Coen Brothers film“Inside Llewyn Davis” with production designer Jess Gonchor. She art directed and set designed the Coen features Serious Man and Burn After Reading, respectively, earning Art Directors Guild Nominations for both. Ms. Jensen was also the set designer on the Coen Brothers Academy Award-winning No Country for Old Men for which she won an Art Directors Guild Award for Excellence in Production Design. With director Tony Gilroy and production designer Kevin Thompson on The Bourne Legacy, Ms. Jensen worked as the set designer on the lab sets, prominent in the film. On director Julie Taymor’s Across the Universe, she developed the induction center and army hospital sets for production designer Mark Friedberg. She was also the set designer on Todd Hayne’s Emmy Award-winning adaptation ofMildred Pierce with Kate Winslet for HBO, focusing on the design of Mildred’s home and restaurant. Ms. Jensen received an Art Directors Guild Award for Excellence in Production Design for her work on Mildred. Ms. Jensen studied cultural anthropology and theater at Emory University in their Scholars Program. She moved to New York to study set design, beginning in downtown and regional theater with designer Douglas Stein and topflight directors including Garland Wright, Robert Woodruff and Bart Sher; she later transitioned to film work.
