Garry Phillips recently shot The Railway Man for director Jonathan Teplitzky, starring Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman. The film was screened at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival. He also worked with Jonathan Teplitzky on Burning Man (screened 2011 Toronto Festival), for which Garry won a Gold ACS Award for NSW/ACT Cinematographers Society Awards and was nominated for a FCCA Award and AACTA Award, along with Gettin’ Square (for which Garry received an AFI and IF nomination) and Better Than Sex. Garry’s cinematography credits include Candy, the feature adaptation of Luke Davies’ book, directed by Neil Armfield and starring Heath Ledger and Abbie Cornish, and Phillip Noyce’s Catch A Fire. He shot The Monkey’s Mask for Samantha Lang and the very sexy Feeling Sexy for director Davida Alleb and producers Glenys Rowe and Chris Noonan. Garry served as DOP and 2nd unit director on The Cave, directed by Bruce Hunt for producer Andrew Mason and shot Razzle Dazzle for director Darren Ashton as well as an episode of First Australians for Rachel Perkins.
