The king’s speech,Downton Abbey,Conan,My Week with Marilyn, Jack Ryan, buffalo soldiers, Cinderella,Jude, The red violin(the list goes on.) All in a day’s work for Judy Farr whose career stretches back 3 decades. She might not have seen it all before but certainly knows how to present it all on screens, small and large. The historical roots behind Judy's rise to OSCAR, EMMY and BAFTA nominations, are to be found at around half past three on Sunday afternoons when the young Judy would leave her sisters playing in the garden, make her way into the house, close the curtains and immerse herself in the old historical black and white movies from the 1930s &
40s, shown on the BBC.  Fate brought Jude to the BBC at a time of brilliant new British comedy where she worked on productions such asBlack Adder, Hi de Hi, Rory Bremner,Reeves and Mortimer& Mr Bean. This gave her a fantastic training & helped her moveas a freelance set decorator into the British film industry. Jude's career since then has been a roll call of talents & places. She worked in Ireland with designer Jim Clay on Maeve Binchy's Circle of Friends, director Neil Jordan on Ondineand producer, David Putnam on War of the Buttons. Her long term collaboration with the late Simon Holland took her to the forests of Borneo to work on The Sleeping Dictionary. Then to Prague with Dino de Laurentis and designer Allan Starski on Hannibal rising&Terry Gilliam on his interpretation of The Brothers Grimm. Back to Britain for Death at a Funeral, with Michael Howells's and Frank Oz. Stephen Fry's Bright Young Things and David Cronenberg's Eastern Promises: With old BBC colleague Donal Woods, Judy has completed the 2nd series of the hugely successful Downton Abbey for which they have been nominated for many prestigious awards. You can email your questions to 123filmeasy@gmail.com Link: www.123FilmEasy.com.
