Inspired by the filmmaking process and employing architecture as a structural and aesthetic foundation. Mr. Menéndez began set deigning in the early 1990s starting as art director on the television series South Beach. Since then he has worked as art director and set designer on films such as Larry Crowne the upcoming feature film with Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts with Tom Hanks directing. Miami Vice, The Lost City, Any Given Sunday, Analyze This, The Horse Whisperer, Wild Things, Ransom and Bad Boys as well as production designer on Love Wedding Marriage and Stopping Power. In addition to his work on feature films, Mr. Menéndez has designed numerous award-winning commercials in South America, Europe and Southeast Asia. In 2007 he received two nominations from the Art Directors Guild for excellence in production design for Capital One's 'What's in your wallet?" campaign. As a production designer and art director Mr. Menéndez has enjoyed collaborating with great cinematographers such as Conrad Hall, Philippe Debont, Dion Beebe, Salvatore Totino and Jan DeBont, Mr. Menéndez maintains that film lighting, like architecture is one of the highest art forms - art applied to practical purposes.
