Don Levy is a Senior VP of communications for the division of Sony Pictures. Levy directs the corporate communications and public relations for Sony Pictures Animation and Sony Pictures Imageworks. From 2000-2007, Levy led the marketing and communications efforts of Sony Pictures Digital Ent. where he was involved in a range of new media business and start-ups, including Sony Online Ent, Sony Pictures Mobile, Sony Media Software, Soap City, Screenblast, Sony Pictures Digital networks and Movelink. Levy joined Sony Pictures Imageworks in 1996 during the group's founding stages. Since then, with Levy directing it's communications efforts. Imageworks has gone on to become an award-winning visual effects and digital character animation company. In 2003, Levy oversaw the Academy Award campaign for Imageworks animated short film, The Chubbchubbs!, which garnered the group's first Oscar, and guided the company to win the 2005 Academy Award for Best Achievement in Visual Effects for it's work on Spiderman 2. Levy orchestrated award campaigns for The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe was nominated for Best Achievement in Visual Effects by the Academy. Superman Returns, Spider-Man 3, I Am Legend and Surf's Up which were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film. Levy is a member of the AMPAS, the Publicists Guild Of America, from which he received the Guild's highest honor, The Les Mason Award and their Bob Yeager Award for community service. He is a visiting scholar at the school of Cinematic Arts at the University Of Southern California, teaches the Entertainment Marketing class for Boston University's Los Angeles Program, and has been a member of the advisory board for the UCLA Technical Management Program.
