ACTIVISM!! THIS HAS BEEN THE KEY WORD AND ACTION DEFINING SO MANY OF OUR BEAUTIFUL AND STRONG SISTERS OF AFRICAN DESCENT. FROM ANCIENT TIMES TO NOW. FROM QUEEN HATSHEPSUT TO QUEEN NZINGA TO SANITE BELAIR TO IDA B. WELLS TO ALICIA GARZA. BLACK WOMEN HAVE STOOD UP AND HAVE BEEN, MANY TIMES, AT THE FOREFRONT OF THE FIGHT FOR JUSTICE AND EQUALITY. TONIGHT WE TAKE A LOOK AT THREE DYNAMIC AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN AND HOW THEY STARTED ON THE ROAD TO BEING ACTIVISTS FOR CHANGE AND HOW IT CONTINUES TO MOTIVATE, INSPIRE AND BRING ABOUT RESULTS. PRYDE-SMITH GILBERT, TAMMY GREER BROWN, AND THE HON. COUNCILWOMAN DEBI ROSE. THREE WOMEN AND THREE GENERATIONS AND THEIR FIGHT TO CARRY ON THE NOBLE TRADITION OF ADVOCATING FOR JUSTICE, EQUALITY, AND FREEDOM FOR NOT JUST OUR PEOPLE, BUT FOR ALL!!!
